1. The Committee met at 2.30 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy de Valera (in the Chair), Deputies Bermingham, Crotty, H. Gibbons, Governey, Griffin, MacSharry and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1971-72.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1971-72 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Comptroller and Auditor General, Lands, Forestry, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Vocational Education, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Universities and Colleges and Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. T. O’Brien (Secretary, Department of Lands), Mr. S. Ó Conchobhair (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 5.20 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
