APPENDIX 35.

COMPILATION OF PROPERTY RENTAL 1969/70.

Mapping. During the year 117 properties were surveyed and 114 mapped. Most of these properties consisted of houses built for members of the Gárda Síochána by the National Building Agency Ltd. in the counties of Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford. In addition, some properties in Dublin City, including new office accommodation proposed to be taken on lease, were surveyed. The Surveyors were also, as usual, engaged in preparation of maps for leases, sales etc. and in title research work in the Valuation Office and the Land Registry.

From the initiation of the property rental 1879 premises including 241 National Building Agency houses have been surveyed and 1842 premises including 231 National Building Agency houses have been mapped.

Legal Work. There was again virtually no progress on the legal work during the year because of continued staff shortages in the office of the Chief State Solicitor.

Secretariat. In addition to the property records in the Counties mentioned in previous reports, records of properties in Counties Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow were prepared and/or completed and were issued to the District Architects concerned for the purpose of their regular perambulation of the properties.
