COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTS

INTERIM REPORT

The Committee has made progress in the matters referred to it and has agreed to the following Interim Report:—

1. The Committee took evidence on 15th July, 1971, in connection with paragraph 10 of the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Appropriation Accounts 1969-70. This evidence (unrevised) is set out in Appendix 1.

2. A communication relating to the matter dated 21 Iúil, 1971, has been received from the Secretary Department of Finance with which is enclosed a note of the opinion of the Department of the Attorney General in the matter. This communication and the note are set out in Appendix 2.

3. The Committee considers it its duty to bring the matter to the attention of the Dáil immediately.
