At my examination before the Public Accounts Committee on 21st May, 1970, I undertook to supply information about the plans for the proposed new Government Offices at Athlone and Castlebar. The developed sketch plans for both new offices have been agreed upon and detailed planning is proceeding. A considerable amount of work is involved but it is expected that documents for tendering purposes will be available in about twelve to eighteen months, assuming that no changes in planning are necessary.
