Of the 127 cases referred to the Gárdai, 59 have been brought to court. The total amount involved in the charges was £4,605. Convictions were obtained in 49 cases representing £3,600 in the charges.

In 59 of the other 68 cases referred to the Gárdaí, it was not possible to obtain evidence sufficient to sustain prosecutions. The remaining 9 cases are at present under investigation by the Gárdaí. In the absence of specific charges, it is not possible to state how much money these 68 cases represent.
