I am directed by the Select Committee on Statutory Instruments to State that it notes that the usual citation of authority referring to the appropriate sections of the Solicitors’ Act, 1954 from which the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland derives authority for making the Solicitors’ Accounts (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 1966, has been omitted from that instrument. The Committee would appreciate your comments on the omission.

Dear Sir,

I refer to your recent letter on the subject of the Solicitors’ Accounts (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, 1966 [S.I. No. 193 of 1966]. Unfortunately your letter has been mis-filed and it cannot be traced at the moment. I confirm what I stated to you on the telephone that the omission of the citation of the section under which the regulations were made was an oversight.

It is likely in the near future that consolidated regulations will be made and all the existing regulations will be revoked and re-enacted.
