The following members were present:—


Deputy Sweetman (in the Chair), Deputies Andrews, de Valera and Norton; Senator Sheldon.


3. Appearances for the Promoters.


Mr. Raymond O’Neill, S.C., Mr. Owen Keane, B.L., and Messrs. Whitney, Moore & Keller, Parliamentary Agents, appeared for the Promoters, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.


4. Reports on the Bill.


Reports on the Bill from the Department of Finance and the Department of Justice were read.


5. Hearing in support of Preamble.


Mr. Raymond O’Neill, S.C., and Mr. Owen Keane, B.L., were heard in support of the Preamble of the Bill and called evidence.


6. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. Howard W. Robinson, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and Mr. Colin E. Polden, Secretary of the Institute, sworn and examined.
