OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS.

Compilation of Property Rental 1963/64.

Mapping:

During the year 48 properties were surveyed and 62 were mapped, the counties concerned being Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary, Westmeath, Wicklow, Offaly, Laois, Roscommon, Leitrim, Clare and Kildare.

From the initiation of the property rental 1,497 properties have been surveyed and 1,445 have been mapped.

Legal:

The final legal work was done in respect of 2 properties in Counties Cork and Monaghan.

Secretariat:

Of the properties surveyed 41 were finally dealt with for the purposes of the Rental. In addition the records of title etc. were compiled in respect of 143 other properties (short term tenancies, national schools, etc.). The properties concerned are situated in Counties Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Tipperary, Westmeath.

Perambulation:

It has been decided to revise the perambulation procedure so that each District Architect will retain in his District Office records of all properties in his District to enable him to co-ordinate regular perambulations with routine maintenance inspections without being instructed on each occasion by Head Office. The preparation of the necessary records for the District Architects is in hands and it is hoped to initiate the revised procedure in at least one District at an early date. In the meantime periodic inspection of the properties has continued.
