1. The Committee met at 4.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Senator O’Brien (in the Chair), Senators Cole, Desmond, Erin Ryan and Sheldon.

3. Examination of Departmental Representatives.

Messrs. E. T. Sheehy, M. J. Murphy and K. Coghlan the representatives deputed by the Department of Local Government to appear before the Committee consequent on the Order of 18th November, 1964 were examined in connection with the following instruments:—

Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 [S.I. No. 191 of 1963].

Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1964 [S.I. No. 29 of 1964].

Road Traffic (Lighting of Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 [S.I. No. 189 of 1963].

Road Traffic (Construction, Equipment and Use of Vehicles), Regulations, 1963 [S.I. No. 190 of 1963].

Road Traffic (Speed Limits) Regulations, 1963 [S.I. No. 18 of 1963].
