APPENDIX X.EXPENDITURE BY HEALTH AUTHORITIES ON MEDICINES.Cléireach an Choiste, Coiste um Chuntais Phoiblí. During my examination on 31st January, 1963, before the Committee of Public Accounts, I undertook to supply particulars of expenditure by each Health Authority on medicines. A statement is now submitted setting out the expenditure by each Health Authority on medicines used (a) in Health Institutions other than Mental Hospitals, (b) in Mental Hospitals, and (c) in the General Medical Services. The figures shown in the statement have been obtained from accounts prepared after the close of the year 1961-62 and they represent the actual expenditure for the year subject only to any changes which may be made at audit. Notes: The expenditure on Medicines used in Mental Hospitals conducted by Joint Authorities has been allocated to the contributing Health Authorities on the basis for allocation of expenses generally. The figures for General Medical Services are inclusive of the cost of medical appliances for which separate accounts are not available but which is known to be relatively very small. |
