UNESTABLISHED OFFICERS: GRATUITIES.

When the Vote for Superannuation and Retired Allowances was being discussed at the meeting of the Committee of Public Accounts on 31st January, 1963, I undertook to inform the Committee whether legislative authority had yet been given to payments under Subhead E—Gratuities in respect of Unestablished Officers—of that Vote.

It is proposed to include a provision in the Superannuation and Pensions Bill which, if enacted, will give statutory authority for the payments in question.
