THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Belton, Booth, Patrick J. Burke, Carter, Clinton, Cunningham, Nicholas Egan and Sherwin.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1960-61.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1960-61 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Dundrum Asylum, Charitable Donations and Bequests, Stationery Office, Valuation and Ordnance Survey, Rates on Government Property, Health, Defence and Army Pensions.


4. Election of Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Booth):


“That Deputy Belton be elected Chairman for the remainder of the meeting.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Belton took the Chair accordingly.


5. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1960-61.


Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1960-61 was resumed. The following Account was disposed of:—Local Government.


6. Witnesses Examined.


Dr. W. J. Coyne (Governor, Dundrum Asylum), Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. B. Ó Brolcháin (Controller, Stationery Office), Mr. J. Mooney (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. P. S. Ó Muireadhaigh (Secretary, Department of Health), Mr. H. C. Brady (Secretary, Department of Defence), Mr. J. Garvin (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Miss M. Bhreathnach, Mr. P. S. McGuill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


7. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 12.55 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
