THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 13th June, 1962.

1. The Committee met at 4.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Senator O’Brien (in the Chair), Senators Brennan, Browne, Desmond, Ryan and Sheldon.

3. Examination of Departmental Representatives.

Following examination of Messrs. M. J. Fletcher and A. MacCormaic the representatives deputed respectively by the Department of Lands and Health to appear before the Committee as witnesses consequent on the Order of 11th April, 1962, it was—

(i) Resolved: That the special attention of Seanad Éireann be drawn to the following instrument on ground (vi) of the Order of Reference:—

Foyle Area (Restriction of Netting) Regulations, 1961.

(ii) Resolved: That it is not necessary to draw the special attention of Seanad Éireann to the following instrument:—

Food Hygiene (Amendment) Regulations, 1961 [S.I. No. 24 of 1961].

4. Consideration of Memoranda.

Following consideration of memoranda submitted by Departments in accordance with the Order of 11th April, 1962, it was:—

Resolved: That the special attention of Seanad Éireann be drawn to the following instruments on ground (vi) of the Order of Reference:—

Garda Síochána Pay and Allowances Order, 1961 [S.I. No. 41 of 1961].

Control of Exports (No. 2) Order, 1961.
