APPENDIX XX.

ROAD WORKS IN COUNTY WATERFORD GAELTACHT AREA IN 1960-61.

On the occasion of my appearance before the Public Accounts Committee on the 29th of March, 1962, I undertook to supply particulars of road works undertaken in the year 1960-61 in the County Waterford Gaeltacht area and in respect of which 100% grants were approved.

These road works were:

(1) The erection of 50 yards of concrete wall and 120 yards of wire-net fencing at one side of that portion of the Mweelahorna road between the gate of the Irish College and the junction of the road with the Dungarvan—Ringville road at the Ringville Dispensary. The roadway was being improved and widened by the Waterford County Council.

(2) Road-widening from below St. Nicholas’ Church towards road junction at Ringville, with provision of a concrete footpath.
