RECEIPTS FROM SALES OF PROPERTY.

The question was raised during my examination before the Committee of Public Accounts on 8th March, 1962, as to why Sales of Property were accounted for under both Extra Receipts payable to Exchequer and Appropriations in Aid. I wish to explain that up to the year of account (1960-61) Sales of Property were accounted for solely under Extra Receipts payable to Exchequer. From that year (1960-61) onwards, this procedure was changed and money arising from the Sales of Property became credited to Appropriations in Aid. During the transition year 1960-61, credits to both sources arose.
