IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE.

THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Senator O’Brien (in the Chair), Senators Carter, Cole, Fearon and Murphy.

3. Consideration of Memoranda.

Following consideration of memoranda. submitted by Departments in accordance with the Orders of 29th March, 1958 it was:—

(i) Agreed: That the following instrument did not come within the terms of the Order of Reference of the Committee:—

Factories Act, 1955 (Commencement of Sections 34 and 35) Order, 1957 [S.I. No. 260 of 1957].

(ii) Resolved: That it is not necessary to draw the special attention of Seanad Éireann to the following instruments:—

Oil Pollution of the Sea (Records) Regulations, 1957 [S.I. No. 206 of 1957].

Poultry Hatcheries Regulations, 1957 [S.I. No. 229 of 1957].

(iii) Resolved: That the special attention of Seanad Éireann be drawn to the following instrument on ground (iv) of the Order of Reference:—

Garda Síochána Pensions Order, 1957 [S.I. No. 231 of 1957].

(iv) Resolved: That the special attention of Seanad Éireann be drawn to the following instrument on ground

Butter (Control in Scheduled Area) Order, 1957 [S.I. No. 53 of 1957].

Fertilisers, Feeding Stuffs and Mineral Mixtures Regulations, 1957 [S.I. No. 264 of 1957].

Rathdrum and Wicklow Public Assistance Districts (Alteration of Boundaries) Order, 1957 [S.I. No. 215 of 1957].

Solicitors’ Accounts Regulations, 1957 [S.I. No. 252 of 1957].

The Pigs and Bacon Acts, 1935 to 1956 (Pigs and Bacon Commission) Regulations (No. 2) Order, 1957 [S.I. No. 171 of 1957].

4. Report of Committee.

The Chairman brought forward a Draft Report which was read as follows:—
