APPENDIX VI.

LOANS BY THE FORMER CONGESTED DISTRICTS BOARD TO THE GALWAY GRANITE QUARRY COMPANY.

In reply to Question 230 I promised the Committee of Public Accounts on the 2nd June that I would supply details of the loans advanced by the Congested Districts Board to the Galway Granite Quarry Co. The records show that £2,000 was advanced in 1910 and that further advances amounting to £4,891 10s. 2d. were made between then and November, 1912, when the total principal after inclusion of £108 9s. 10d. for unpaid interest was shown as £7,000. Up to June, 1914, £433 2s. 6d. of the principal with interest seems to have been repaid leaving the principal then at £6,566 17s. 6d. The account as it now stands (£10,582 19s. 11d.) is made up of that principal plus interest minus the half-yearly profit rent of £22 which has been credited to the account since March, 1920.
