Committee Reports::Report - Amendment to Standing Order relating to Notice of Questions::30 November, 1949::Report

DÁIL ÉIREANN.

COMMITTEE ON PROCEDURE AND PRIVILEGES.

REPORT ON AMENDMENT OF STANDING ORDER RELATING TO NOTICE OF QUESTIONS.

1. It has been represented to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges that the inclusion of Saturday as one of the three days which count for the purposes of notice of Parliamentary Questions has caused difficulties in some Departments of State on account of the shortened time thus allowed for the preparation of replies to certain types of Questions.

2. The Committee has decided to recommend the adoption by the Dáil of the following amendment to Standing Order 30, viz. :

The deletion of the words “but no Question shall be handed in on” and the substitution therefor of the words “not reckoning.”

(Signed)

PROINNSIAS O FATHAIGH,
