THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Déardaoin, 7ú Iúil, 1949.

Thursday, 7th July, 1949.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Present: Deputies Brady, Briscoe, J. J. Collins, Mrs. H. Crowley, Derrig, Dockrell, Gilbride, M. O’Sullivan, and Sheldon.

3. Motion made (Deputy Sheldon):

“That Deputy Derrig be Chairman of the Committee.”

Question put, and agreed to.

Deputy Derrig took the Chair accordingly.

4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1947-48 was begun. The following Account was disposed of:—Forestry (Excess of Expenditure over Grant).

5. Mr. W. F. Nally (Secretary, Department of Lands), Mr. J. Mooney (Department of Finance), and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.

6. The Committee adjourned at 11.30 a.m. till Thursday, 10th November, 1949.
