IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE.THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.Déardaoin, 29ú Bealtaine, 1947.Thursday, 29th May, 1947.1. The Committee met at 11 a.m. 2. Present: Deputies Blowick, B. Brady, Briscoe, Colbert, Cosgrave, M. E. Dockrell, Loughman, Lydon, and Sheldon. 3. Motion made (Deputy B. Brady): “That Deputy Cosgrave be Chairman of the Committee.” Question put and agreed to. Deputy Cosgrave took the Chair accordingly. 4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1945-46 was begun. The following Accounts were disposed of: Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Circuit Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Posts and Telegraphs, Wireless Broadcasting, Local Government and Public Health, General Register Office, National Health Insurance, Widows’ and Orphans’ Pensions. 5. Mr. S. A. Roche (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. R. J. Cremins (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs), Mr. J. Collins (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. T. J. MacArdle (Secretary, Department of Health), Mr. D. J. O’Donovan (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Mr. C. S. Almond and Mr. F. T. McHenry (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined. 6. The Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. till Thursday, 4th June, 1947. |
