THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 24th April, 1941.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Present: Deputies Allen, Benson, B. Brady, Cormac Breathnach, Cole, Dillon, Hogan, Hughes, Keyes, McCann, McMenamin and O’Rourke.


3. Motion made (Deputy B. Brady):


“That Deputy Dillon be Chairman of the Committee.”


Question put and agreed to.


Deputy Dillon took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1939-40 was taken up. The following Accounts were disposed of:—National Health Insurance, Widows’ and Orphans’ Pensions, General Register Office, Local Government and Public Health.


5. Mr. J. Hurson (Secretary, Local Government and Public Health), Mr. L. M. Fitzgerald (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.


6. The Committee adjourned at 1.30 p.m.
