IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE.THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.Déardaoin, 15adh Bealtaine, 1941.Thursday, 15th May, 1941.1. The Committee met at 11 a.m. 2. Present: Deputy Dillon (in the Chair), Deputies Allen, Benson, Brian Brady, Cormac Breathnach, Hogan, Hughes, Keyes, McCann, McMenamin, and O’Rourke. 3. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1939-40 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Old Age Pensions (excess vote), Gaeltacht Services (excess vote), Office of the Minister for Justice, Gárda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Circuit Court, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools. 4. Mr. W. D. Carey (Chairman, Revenue Commissioners), Mr. M. Deegan (Secretary, Department of Lands), Mr. S. A. Roche (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. Seosamh O’Neill (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. C. S. Almond and Mr. L. M. Fitzgerald (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined. 5. The Chairman brought forward a Draft Interim Report, which was read the first and second time and passed. Ordered: to report accordingly. 6. The Committee adjourned at 1 p.m. till Wednesday next. |
