APPENDIX XIII.

TRUNK CALLS FOR RURAL AREAS. PROCEDURE AT END OF THREE MINUTES.

In the case of calls from a subscriber’s circuit the controlling operator notifies the end of the three minutes period, but the call is not terminated unless the subscriber desires it. In the case of calls from Call Offices, however, it is necessary that the fee for the call be paid in advance, and the regulations provide that the caller shall be told this and invited to prepay for a six minutes call if he is at all likely to need it, as unless the option is paid for, the call must be terminated at three minutes. If the extra period is not taken, the fee for it is refunded.
