ARRANGEMENT RE THE DAIRY PRODUCE (PRICE STABILISATION) FUND.

As regards the matter referred to in paragraph 100 of the C. & A.G.’s Report (1937-8), I have to state, for the information of the Public Accounts Committee, that before fixing the Vote provision for subsidy in respect of dairy produce due allowance is made for the probable income of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) Fund; and it has been arranged between the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Finance that the latter will be notified when any change in the rate of levy payable into the Fund is made or when the Fund approaches depletion, as occurred in November, 1937, so that there will be a larger draw upon voted moneys.
