ARMY VOTE—EXCESS ON SUBHEAD R.

The Clerk to the Committee of Public Accounts.

Referring to the question put by the Chairman on Wednesday, the 30th ult., regarding the excess on Subhead R. of the Army Vote for 1936/37, I should be obliged if you would inform him that the excess was due to the under-estimation of requirements in respect of Fuel and Light for those members of the Volunteer Force whose training was carried out at Military Barracks as distinct from Sluagh Halls.
