THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 24th November, 1938.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2.Present: Deputies Cole, Corry, Linehan, McMenamin, D. O Briain, O’Loghlen, Smith and R. Walsh.


3. Motion made (Deputy Smith):—


“That Deputy McMenamin be Chairman of this meeting of the Committee.”


Question put and agreed to.


Deputy McMenamin took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1936-37 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Industry and Commerce, Transport and Meteorological Services, Railway Tribunal, Marine Service, Unemployment Insurance and Unemployment Assistance, Industrial and Commercial Property Registration Office, Peat Fuel Development, Stationery and Printing, External Affairs, League of Nations, Public Works and Buildings.


5. Mr. J. Leydon (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. J. B. Whelehan (Controller, Stationery Office), Mr. J. P. Walshe (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Mr. T. S. C. Dagg, Mr. C. S. Almond and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.


6. The Committee adjourned at 1 p.m. till Wednesday next.
