REPORT OF THE SELECT COMMITTEE ON THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (GALWAY), BILL, 1937.

1. The Select Committee was constituted as follows:—Deputies R. Corish, Chairman; W. Desmond, J. Good, T. Harris, B. Maguire, D. OBriain and The O’Mahony.

2. The Select Committee considered the Bill on Wednesday, 28th April, 1937, and on Wednesday, 12th May, 1937.

3. The Select Committee report that they have examined the Preamble of the Bill and that the allegations therein contained have been proved to their satisfaction, that they have gone through the Bill and have made amendments thereunto.

4. In considering the Bill the Select Committee have had before them a report on the Bill from the Department of Local Government and Public Health. The manner in which the recommendations contained in the said report have been dealt with is shown in the Appendix at the end of this report.
