IMEACHTA AN CHOISTE.THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.Déardaoin, 25 Samhain, 1937.Thursday, 25 November, 1937.1. The Committee met at 11 a.m. 2. Present: Deputies Beegan, Corry, Dillon, Heron, Linehan, McMenamin, O’Reilly, Smith and R. Walsh. 3. Motion made (Deputy Smith):— “That pending the arrival of the Chairman, Deputy McMenamin act as Chairman of this meeting.” Question put and agreed to. Deputy McMenamin, and afterwards Deputy Dillon, took the Chair accordingly 4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1935-36 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Public Record Office, Fisheries and Export Bounties and Subsidies. 5. Mr. J. F. Morrissey (Public Record Office), Mr. Seán O Broin (Assistant-Secretary, Department of Agriculture), Mr. C. S. Almond, Mr. J. L. Lynd and Mr. J. Maher (Exchequer and Audit Department) were examined. 6. Correspondence was read from Mr. A. O Brolcháin requesting that he be examined in connection with the Vote for Gaeltacht Services for the year ended 31st March, 1935, and the Final Report of the Committee dated 8th July, 1936. Deputy Smith moved:— “That Mr. Bradley’s request be not granted.” Question put; the Committee divided: For, 6; Against, 3. For—Chairman, Deputies Beegan, McMenamin, O’Reilly, Smith and R. Walsh. Against—Deputies Corry, Heron and Linehan. The Question was declared carried accordingly. 7. Further correspondence was read from Mr. A. O Brolcháin, requesting that he be examined by the Committee in connection with alleged State losses arising on an unidentified account, not before the Committee. It was agreed that this request be not granted. 8. The Committee adjourned at 1.15 p.m. |
