PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL COMMITTEE.

Déardaoin, 3° Eanair, 1935.

Thursday, 3rd January, 1935.

1. The Special Committee met at 3 p.m.


2. Present: Senators Sir Edward Coey Bigger, S. L. Brown, K. C., Caitlín Bean Uí Chléirigh, James G. Douglas, Thomas Foran, Patrick Lynch, K. C., Colonel Moore and Siobhán Bean an Phaoraigh.


3. Senator Foran moved:


“That Senator S. I. Brown, K.C., be Chairman of the Special Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to.


4. The question of the admission of the Press was raised by the Chairman. It was ordered that the Press be not admitted.


5. Senator Douglas moved:


“That the Minister for Justice be requested to furnish copies of the Report of the Committee on the Criminal Law Amendment Acts, 1880-1885 and Juvenile Prostitution to the members of the Special Committee for private use during the period of the sitting of the Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to.


6. Adjournment.


The Special Committee adjourned at 3.30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, 17th January, or if the Seanad be sitting on that day until 12 noon on Friday, 18th January. Proposed amendments to be handed in before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 15th January.
