PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 4 p.m.


2. Present: Senators S. L. Brown, K. C. (in the Chair); J. C. Dowdall, Thomas Foran, Thomas Johnson, Joseph O’Doherty, M. F. O’Hanlon and L. O’Neill.


The Minister for Lands and Fisheries was also present.


3. The Committee took the Bill into consideration.


(i) Section 1 agreed to.


(ii) Section 2.


Amendment proposed (Senator Johnson):


Sub-section (1). To delete paragraph (c) and to substitute therefor the following words:—


“The Minister may also grant to the Society by way of lease for any period not exceeding ninety-nine years any land situate in Saorstát Eireann which is for the time being vested in the Minister by statute, deed, contract or otherwise.”


Amendment withdrawn.


Section 2 agreed to.


(iii) Section 3.

To delete the section.

Sub-section (1). To delete all from the word “and” in line 57 to the end of the sub-section.
