PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Déardaoin, 2adh Bealtaine, 1929.

Thursday, 2nd May, 1929.

1. The Committee met at 11.30 a.m. in Committee Room No. 106.


2. The following members were present:—


The Ceann Comhairle (in the Chair); Deputies G. Boland, Corish, P. S. Doyle, Duggan, O’Donovan and Thrift.


The Leas-Cheann Comhairle was also present.


4. Disorderly conduct towards the Chair.


The Committee took into consideration the Chairman’s draft report which had been circulated. The report was as follows:—


1. The Order of reference of the Dáil, of the 5th July, 1928, instructing the Committee on Procedure and Privileges to draw up a Standing Order or Standing Orders within the terms of reference, has been considered by the Committee.


2. In the circumstances obtaining since the Order was made the Committee has decided to recommend to the Dáil that the Order of the Dáil of 5th July, 1928 (Disorderly Conduct towards the Chair) be discharged.


Deputy Thrift moved:


“That the Chairman’s Draft Report be read a second time.”


Question put and agreed to.


Report considered paragraph by paragraph.


(i) Paragraph 1 agreed to.


(ii) Paragraph 2, as amended by the insertion of the word “unanimously” immediately after the word “decided,” agreed to.


Deputy Thrift moved:


“That the Chairman’s Draft Report, as amended, be the Report of the Committee to the Dáil.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Ordered: To report accordingly.


Ordered: That the Report be presented to the Dáil to-day.
