PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE.

1. Chruinnigh an Có-Choiste ar 11 a.m.

2. I láthair: An Ceann Comhairle (i gCeannas), Cathaoirleach an tSeanaid; Eamon de Valera, Domhnall O Muirgheasa agus Mícheál O Tighearnaigh, Teachtaí; Tomás Beinéid, Séamas Dubhglas, Aindrias Mac Séamais, Seán O Fearghail agus Mícheál O hAnnluain, Seanadóirí.

3. Toghachan chun an tSeanaid.

Tairisgint déanta (Cathaoirleach an tSeanaid):

“That the Joint Committee recommends that the Seanad be elected by the Dáil and Seanad, each House electing one-half the number of members to be elected, on principles of Proportional Representation.”

Tairisgint, fé chead, tairgthe siar.

Tairisgint eile déanta (Eamon de Valera):

“That the Joint Committee recommends that the members of the Seanad be elected by the members of the Dáil voting on principles of Proportional Representation.”

Leasú tairgthe (Mícheál O Tighearnaigh):

“To delete the word ‘voting’ and add after the word ‘Dáil’ the words ‘and Seanad voting together.”’
