PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 16th March, 1928.

1. The Committee met at 11.15 a.m. in Committee Room No. 106.

2. The following members were present:—

The Ceann Comhairle (in the Chair); Deputies Aiken, Boland, Cooper, Duggan, P.S. Doyle, Little, MacEntee, Morrissey, O’Donovan, O’Sullivan and Thrift.

7. Office of Leas-Cheann Comhairle.

The Chairman outlined to the Committee his views of the duties attaching to the Office of Leas-Cheann Comhairle and of the position of a Deputy holding that office as regards the tabling of motions and amendments, putting of questions, intervention in debates, voting and political activities outside the Dáil.

The Committee expressed a desire to have a memorandum dealing generally with the matter submitted to it at its next meeting.
