PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 12th July, 1928.

1. The Committee met at 11.30 a.m. in Committee Room No. 106.


2. The following members were present:—


The Ceann Comhairle (in the Chair); Deputies Aiken, G. Boland, J. J. Byrne, Cooper, Corish, Duggan, P. S. Doyle, Flinn, Little, O’Donovan and Thrift.


3. Sittings on Holidays of Obligation.


Deputy Aiken moved:


“That it is the opinion of the Committee that the Dáil should not in future sit on any Holiday of Obligation.”


Question put; the Committee divided; For, 5; Against, 6.


For:—Deputies Aiken, Boland, Corish, Flinn and Little.


Against:—Deputies J. J. Byrne, Cooper, Duggan, P. S. Doyle, O’Donovan and Thrift.


The Question was declared negatived accordingly.


It was arranged that a draft report covering the decision of the Committee should be prepared for consideration at the first meeting of the Committee after the Recess.


6. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 12.35 p.m. until 12 noon on the first Thursday in October on which the Dáil sits.
