SEANAD EIREANN.

ORDERS OF REFERENCE.

15th February, 1928.—Resolved: That it is expedient that a Joint Committee consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, with the Chairman of each House ex officio, be set up to consider and report on the changes, if any, necessary in the constitution and powers of, and methods of election to Seanad Eireann (Senator O’Farrell).


Ordered: That a Message be sent to the Dáil to communicate this Resolution and to desire their concurrence.


1st March, 1928.—Message from the Dáil that the Dáil concurs with the Seanad in the aforementioned Resolution.


Ordered: That a Joint Committee consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, with the Chairman of each House ex officio, be set up to consider and report on the changes, if any, necessary in the constitution and powers of, and methods of election to Seanad Eireann (Senator O’Farrell).


Ordered: That a Message be sent to the Dáil acquainting them accordingly.


Ordered: That Senators Bennett, Douglas, Jameson, O’Hanlon and O’Farrell, with the Cathaoirleach ex officio, be appointed to serve on the Joint Committee (Senator O’Farrell).


DÁIL EIREANN.

22nd February, 1928.—Message from the Seanad—That Seanad Eireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Dáil Eireann is desired:—That it is expedient that a Joint Committee consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, with the Chairman of each House ex officio, be set up to consider and report on the changes, if any, necessary in the constitution and powers of, and methods of election to Seanad Eireann.


Resolved: That the Dáil concurs with the Seanad in the aforementioned Resolution communicated to the Dáil on the 15th day of February (Minister for Local Government and Public Health).


Ordered: That a Message be sent to the Seanad acquainting them accordingly.


1st March, 1928.—Message from the Seanad—That Seanad Eireann has made the following Order:— That a Joint Committee consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, with the Chairman of each House ex officio, be set up to consider and report on the changes, if any, necessary in the constitution and powers of, and methods of election to Seanad Eireann.


Ordered: That a Joint Committee consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad with the Chairman of each House ex officio, be set up to consider and report on the changes, if any, necessary in the constitution and powers of, and methods of election to Seanad Eireann (Minister for Local Government and Public Health).


Ordered: That the Committee of Selection nominate five Deputies to serve on the Joint Committee (Minister for Local Government and Public Health).


2nd March, 1928.—Deputies appointed to serve on the Joint Committee:—Deputies de Valera, Morrissey, G. O’Sullivan, Ruttledge and Tierney, with the Ceann Comhairle ex officio.
