REPORT OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE DUBLIN UNITED TRAMWAYS BILL, 1924.

1. The members of the Joint Committee were as follows:—


Deputy Liam Thrift, Chairman; Deputies Seoirse Mae Niocaill, P. F. Baxter, and Tadhg O Murchadha; Senators the Earl of Wicklow, J. T. O’Farrell, and William Barrington.


2. The Joint Committee considered the Bill on Tuesday, the 18th November, 1924, Wednesday, the 19th November, 1924, and Thursday, the 20th November, 1924.


3. The Joint Committee report that they have examined the Preamble of the Bill, and that the allegations therein contained have been proved to their satisfaction; that they have gone through the Bill, and have made amendments thereunto; that they have amended the Title as follows:— A BILL ENTITLED AN ACT TO AUTHORISE THE DUBLIN UNITED TRAMWAYS COMPANY (1896), LIMITED, TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN OMNIBUS SERVICES IN THE CITY AND COUNTY OF DUBLIN AND COUNTIES OF WICKLOW AND KILDARE, AND TO AMEND CERTAIN ACTS RELATING TO THE COMPANY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.


4. In considering the Bill the Joint Committee had before them reports on the Bill from the Department of Industry and Commerce, the Department of Lands and Agriculture, and the Department of Local Government and Public Health, respectively. The manner in which the recommendations of the Department of Industry and Commerce and the Department of Lands and Agriculture have been dealt with is shown in Appendix A and Appendix B, respectively. The Department of Local Government and Public Health did not recommend any alterations in the Bill.
